Sharing Hope from the Heart of the Highlands

Bridge Club

If you are a bridge player, the Highland Bridge Group would love for you to join us! We meet on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 in the Fellowship Hall. We would be happy to have new members join us.

We Of the World (WOW)

This group of dedicated men and women gather every Thursday at 10:30 am to share in joys and concerns and to find ways to best serve our refugee community at Kentucky Refugee Ministries. Pre-pandemic times, this group cooked lunch every week for over 100 refugees. They hope to get back to doing this work, but currently are finding other ways to meet and serve this population. Some of the service activities they have done together during covid include gathering baby supplies for new moms, planting a garden to beautify the outdoor space at KRM, and putting together a clothing and furniture drive for the influx of Afghan refugees. This group is both a service and fellowship group that is dedicated to gathering and serving! Everyone is welcome to join!

Contemplative Photography Group

Whether you use your phone as a camera or a fancy DSLR with all the bells and whistles, you are invited to join our contemplative photography group that periodically meets to hear a program and learn how to take better photos and how to use photos as a spiritual practice. After the program, this group goes on an outing to a local park or outdoor space to put their new knowledge to use. All levels of expertise and knowledge is welcome to join this group!

Men’s Pub Night

A group of men gather each month on the second Thursday at 7:00 pm for a beverage and some good conversation at TEN20 Craft Brewery at 1020 E. Washington St. Plenty of socially distanced outdoor seating. Come join us. No agenda, just conversation in good company.

Older Wiser Learning Still (OWLS)

The OWLS welcome members and friends of any age for lunch and programming. We meet on the second Wednesday of the month downstairs in the dining room at 11:30 am. The program changes each month and we always welcome new ideas for what we want to learn about.

WINGS (Women IN God’s Spirit)

WINGS is a group of women who meet the second Monday at 7:00 pm in a member’s home for fellowship and mutual support. Each month a devotional is engaged either as a whole group or in small groups. WINGS is also active in mission through the collection of donation items for ministries like STITCH, Kentucky Refugee Ministries, and NUTS (Nicaragua Mission Team).
