Ministries with Children and Families

The children’s ministry at HPC works to provide a safe place for children to learn about the Bible, to question and grow their faith, and to help them develop a positive spiritual identity. The importance of sharing God’s love with each other and the community is emphasized through participation in service projects and enjoying fellowship with our families and each other.

Sunday School

A wide range of Bible stories are learned through reading, art, making music and other creative ways. Children are encouraged to share their thoughts on each story.

Childcare

HPC provides a safe and caring environment for infants and toddlers during the Sunday School hour as well as during worship services. (See Sunday Morning Worship for more information).

Worship

Elementary aged children are a regular part of our worshipping family. Worship services offer for a Time for Young Disciples where the scripture is explored in a way appropriate for young ones.

Roots

Roots offers children grades 3-5 a way of exploring ways to “root” themselves in their faith through community-building activities, such as recreation, service projects and thoughtful discussion.

Music

Choir is offered for all children 4-years-old through 5th grade. The joy of music is experienced through singing, instruments, movement and creating. The children’s choirs take part in many worship services throughout the year.

Family Fun

Understanding the importance of family in the spiritual formation of children, HPC offers a monthly themed event for children and their families.
